to me he stopped "being human" as he grew older and didnt grow into his own person, he fully cemented himself as "inhuman" to me when he failed to get attached to anyone, not even being sure about the name of the woman he attempted suicide with, and kept talking about his shame entirely misplaced. all his relationships were so shallow its frustrating, in the end as well as the start it seems that his only longing for attachment was towards his father. all in all i wouldnt say he seized being human but rather stopped growing up, which is quite common for children with trauma, which we know he has considering his history with abuse.

I am not quite sure, but I believe that the original Japanese title translates literally as "unqualified to be considered a human", but Titels are never translated literally, they are adapted to sound fitting and pleasing. Also thank you very much for the reading, it was so enjoyable

My answer to the question "When did he become inhuman" is that he always was inhuman. He didn't have any understanding of human heart or human being himself and someone who doesn't understand what a human being is, despite being one, are no longer human.

It wasn't written in 1910 (author would be 1yo at that time) but 1947, the year Dazai eventually killed himself; and thus the air raids weren't about WW1 but WW2. The events of the novel take place in 1930s, not 1910s.

Damn well... You can not force someone to follow your vocations in life. This book is so depressing! But anyways, thank you for your recording of this book.

I cannot thank you more. I had a book project and I wanted to read this book so much but I didn't have time to read it on my own. You literally saved my life thank you and I love you so much. You need to be noticed. <br>Also a recommendation: It's Kind Of A Funny Story by: Ned Vizzini
