You're probably better off financially than you think you are. (An outline can be found in the description box above).

I am debt-free and my money is making enough money to pay my bills. Always lived below my means.

It is so refreshing to see you say, "what planet is Suze Orman from?" saying 5 million is necessary to have before retirement ! What the financial people say would mean nobody could retire. Your channel is common sense and so wonderful to watch. Thank you.

My strategy to retiring before 62 is to go and live real good in other countries for an average of $1,500 a month. 😊

Hi Ronnie, just listened to this today.
Living in the the UK, one major thing that I have to be grateful for (and this video has reminded of) is we don't have to pay Health Insurance costs, because of our National Health Service.
Some people do pay for Private Health care, but I couldn't afford that.
The NHS comes in for a lot of criticism over here; yes, it is overstretched, and sometimes not as efficient as it could be, but overall it is a good service.
We don't know how lucky we are over here.
Fortunately, at age 60, I'm in good health. I cycle to and from work everyday, (5 miles both ways) all weathers, and try and go for a run twice a week.
I've not seen a Doctor for 25 years, and that was only for abscess to be treated.
Not had to go to hospital for probably 35 years, and that was for a sports injury.
But, it is good to know we have this service, free at point of entry.
My wife, on the other hand, aged 55, was diagnosed with MS 18 months ago, so she is having to use the NHS service, which has been brilliant to her.
All the best,
Ian UK

I retired this year at 55 when my wife and i sold our business. I also have my military pension. Being debt free absolutely helped up pull the trigger. Now we travel when we want and live at 9500ft and love life. I am living proof that you can overcome the bad financial decisions you make when you are young.
