  Even tho you say your English is broken as long as I can understand you and what you are saying to me that counts as good English in my book I’m very impressed that you improved so much on our language and I look forward to the day that your English improves more overtime. Seeing you put so much effort into our language makes me want to put in the same amount effort into learning your language too I have been thinking about learning Japanese because I really like your language and it seems very fun.   This story is actually rather similar in certain ways to the Sampo from the Finnish epic poem, "The Kalevala". In it, the Sampo is a mystical artifact, a mill (just like in this story, your Japanese one), that can produce an infinite supply of flour, salt, and gold. It is stolen, and in the course of things, broken, and the salt-producing part of it falls into the sea, which is why the sea is salty. That's the same explanation as in the wonderful story you just told us. I find it fascinating to find similarities in folk stories, even when they are located half a world away: it's possible they are drawing from a much more ancient story, from when the tribes weren't as separated, perhaps.
