I am 73. I love my original Medicare A&B along with Tricare For Life. This is the very best coverage available in the country. No pre-auths, no networks, no paperwork, no hassle, absolutely NO worries or effort. It is worth more, to me, than the $202 Medicare Part B premium.

TRICARE For Life (TFL) coverage starts automatically before age 65 on the exact day you have both Medicare Part A and Part B, which happens after receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for 24 months, provided you are otherwise eligible for TRICARE.

So this may happen before age 65. Thought I would throw this in.

How much do the umbrella policies cost, roughly for someone who lives in AR?
@fastjimmys · 1 month ago
Answered my question. I was wondering about a 'gap' plan and now I know I don't need it. I just need to sign up for Part B. Already drawing SS and Part A is automatic.

Part b comes out of my social security automatically,and my tricare for life is great, part b does go up almost the exact amount my increase of my social security,

Can you provide a video or information on TFL and the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program? All I read is that TFL individuals are excluded from the program. Thanks.

I am in the Philippines and haven't used Tricare (retired after 20). I've heard I have to keep paying yearly costs or monthly? To keep Tricare active.

When I was in the US I just used the VA because Tricare costs were many.

You will need to go to a military ID facility to report your enrollment in to Medicare Part A and B to update DEERS so the TFL is activated. This cannot be done online. Once in place Medicare coverage and TFL coverage should be seamless.

If not taking Social Security, a beneficiary needs to enroll in Medicare and Part B, get a new I.D. Card and pay the premium.

Vets that are Disable, Social Security disability insurance are automatically enrolled, in Medicare at least I was.

Don't forget to mention how much we pay after military retirement for Tricare until 65, and then change to TFL and how much we pay for that from 65 til age 72. Not to mention the amount we paid for Medicare part B from Age 65 till our demise. This health care isn't free.

I live off my pension currently with Tricare Select....the premium increase will cause me to dip into my savings for the first time since retirement.
