I thought my father was crazy when I was a kid. If the tomatoes weren’t blooming, he would get a thin tree branch and walk thru the tomato patch “whipping them”. As you can imagine, tomato plant pieces started to fly in different directions as he walked past. Given a couple of weeks the entire patch was blooming. A little more dramatic than current day pruning, and no, I don’t do that, but it sure impressed me as a kid. Love your channel Ashley!

I use willow bark instead of aspirin...the willows are on our property, so it´s free. just peel a few twigs and let them soak in water overnight. This willow-water is also good for rooting cuttings! I can´t buy rooting hormone where I live, so I use this. Works well! Thanks for your tips, I will try them!

A guy from the Cleveland museum of natural history was investigating rare wild orchids native to Pennsylvania. He was assessing in a swale next to my place of employment and he told me they use the 10% diluted milk trick to keep deer from nibbling newly planted trees. He said the milk sours and the deer don't like the smell but bcz its diluted, humans don't notice it outdoors

Well, obviously we're all gonna have to block your number now, just because these things work doesn't mean they're not CrAzY, but I would definately watch more videos of weird garden hacks. Thank you Ashley!

I like the idea of pantyhose instead of tin foil, because I needed something to help prevent squash vine borers that won't girdle the plant stem as it grows

My trick for exceptional growth is comfrey. I fill a 5 gal bucket with leaves then fill with water and put the lid on tight, then let it rot for 4-5 weeks then I water the plants with a watering can at the base of them. Stinks like crazy neighbors may complain if they are close by but it really ups my harvest. I also cut down the comfrey in the fall put it in my garden and run over it with my lawnmower. Ps the bees love the flowers always see them on my plant.

I'd been thinking about trying to use old aspirin for this purpose for a while. Thanks for trying it out! On the old milk use for this, one thing to keep in mind, and that is that old milk is actually also super useful for cooking. When used for something like pancakes or scrambled eggs, the results are an extra fluffy food, and it's totally safe as long as the milk is only soured and not actually rotting.

My aspirin refused to dissolve in hot water, but I found a chemist online who suggested adding sodium bicarbonate. So I added a teaspoon to a pint of water and the aspirin immediately dissolved 2. According to the chemist, it's still aspirin. Love your site!
