IMO The longer the season goes the more I think it reveals that Ogilvie who wanted to be in the ED so badly isnt built for it and Joy who wanted nothing to do with it absolutely is

I do love how McKay knows that you don't have to offer solutions, sometimes you just have to validate someone's feelings and be present.

When my mother was dying she was an agonizing pain. The doctor offered us the option of increasing her morphine to ease her pain but with a warning that it might stop her breathing. We opted for the extra morphine. Death was the outcome either way but at least the morphine eased the agony of the process.

Never feel self-conscious about being on social media. You’re showing the world the level of professionalism and empathy they should expect from doctors.

"To Mohan everything she is experiencing is real." Yes, this.

Park the Shark came in, diagnosed, demeaned everyone, and left. And got thanked for doing it.

I aspire to that level of competence at my job.

I was honestly shocked at how Dr. Robby responded to Dr. Mohan’s panic attack, and I didn’t even think about the fact that he did that in front of everybody until you mentioned it. This is really bad. He, the chief of emergency medicine, is sending a message to the whole team that it’s not safe to discuss mental health struggles. If you don’t want emotional issues to affect patient care, one of the worst things you can do is get everyone to bury their emotional issues inside themselves and not talk about them.

As an RN with some experience doing care with hospice patients, what they were doing for Roxie there is what they were referencing to in earlier episodes when Robbie said that with hospice patients their main priority is treating the pain and if the side effect is death, that is accepted as a favorable end. When I was taking care of a hospice patient they had orders for 4mg of morphine every 15 minutes until their respirations were below 14. It feels like assisted suicide, but my charge nurse taught me that in the process of dying itself it can be extremely painful. The morphine really helps with the air hunger and letting them not feel their pain as they're letting go, in a similar way just as we would sedate the amputated leg patient so that they wouldn't remember the trauma. Of course, not a 1 to 1 comparison, but something comparable to it.

Thank you Dr Jeff. Love your reviews. ER RN for 30 years. It's great to see young people like you in the profession. You often point out manners, professional behaviour. You have great empathy. Lastly the way you pointed out how seniors speak to juniors was professional without belittling. Ty. They are lucky to have you.

I find it interesting that other doctors reviewing The Pitt actually agreed with Langdon's decision not to place a chest tube since the patient's sats were stable. Not saying you're wrong at all, it just seems like there's some variability in how different physicians approach these situations.
