My friend says I give my 'o8 c300 too much attention always checking this and that, watching videos like this and other service tips. Then, he rides in it and realizes why........

As good as all these advices are, these are not just for Mercedes Benz, they are valid for any internal combustion engine cars. But if we want to make it more simple and reduce these 12 points to 2 most important ones, first is cold starts and giving the vehicle at least 30 to 90 seconds depending on the temperature, then gently drive first 8-10 minutes. No super long idle times needed unless you live in North Pole or Siberia.
Long idle is actually a bad thing for the engine because during the idle rpm, oil pressure is at its bottom value and barely feeds the engine enough oil. If you have to do a long idle after a cold start, after the first 60 seconds, gently touch the gas pedal to raise the rpm a little bit, so you’d have enough oil pressure.

Number 2 is the oil changes, manufacturer recommendations usually based on normal driving conditions, ie if their recommendation is 10 thousand miles and you drive all city stop n go traffic in extreme weather or a lot of short distance trips then you adjust that 10K to 6 or 7K.
If you hit the road in the morning and drive on the highway 70-80 Mph and a good 25-30 miles away, then you might stick with the manufacturers 10K advice.
Of course a good quality and correct speck oil and a good quality filter is as important as the oil change in correct interval.

Thank you for your descriptive and informative information very helpful.
I own an E250 1.8T 2011 and When I do a start up cold or hot there is an immediate clunk so I took it to my mechanic to do a scan and it showed one timing chain sensor working and the other not working and he said he thinks it could be a cam shaft sensor. I then took the car to a sparky and after spending very close to $500 I do not have an official diagnosis. I am considering replacing both sensors and oil back to liquid moly, currently My mechanic uses pencil. I never had this issue with Liquid moly.

Not all models need to have a new battery registered to the car. For example, according to the Mercedes service manual, my 2014 E350 has no instruction for registering a new battery to the car.
