Hi friends! Be honest: Would you travel alone? ✈ Why—or why not?

If you've traveled solo before, what did you learn about yourself? What tips do you have to share?

I love solo travel. My time is my own and I can take the time to take in my surroundings without interruption. I think it's fun.

I've been traveling alone on and off for 40+ years. I'm 67 now and have lived in three countries for the past eight years, and I'm getting ready to wander again next month.

What a great and inspiering energy you have! I much enjoyed your video and solo travel tips. I travel alone and enjoy it. I think travelling can be a bit exhausting these days, and sometimes feel I´m just put off going anywhere. Your video gave me some new perspectives of solo travelling that I may have forgotten and needed to be reminded of. 🙂

In my experience, I had to learn more about my travel style because I had NOT traveled much at all while in my career. I have been single almost 30 years and pretty much do/go wherever whenever without consulting others. I went on a 40 day trip in April/May. What I learned is things about my preferred 'style' of solo travel. I like to travel very light, carry as few things as possible. If I need something I can buy it. On that 40 day trip I bought a blouse with sleeves, toenail clippers, ibuprofen and one indulgence.....a genuine leather purse in Italy. I act pretty much the same no matter where I am. I like to go out early and 'do' whatever whether it's shopping, errands, walking or exploring... afternoons and evenings I like to chill at 'home' and plan the next day/week. If I don't feel good I am not obligated to do things anyway whether my time is short or not. Typically I was okay with taking a day to explore, then taking a day to rest or just go down to the corner where there was a grocery, or bakery, or restaurant. I don't like to be rushed any longer. I spent YEARS being rushed and I am over it. I used to be the first one to arrive and now I just get there when I get there. I learned that I do not have much tolerance for rude people any longer. I spent years tolerating that as well. I am not confrontational, but as a southern woman, I can bring up the resting bitch face or withering look when needed. And I can easily turn my back and walk away. I learned to stick with my gut on any topic/situation. It never fails me. I am now planning my next trip. Never thought about China. But until I planned that trip to Europe I didn't think about going to Turkey either. I spend a half a day walking all over Istanbul. It was fantastic. Practical things I learned... take clothes that dry quickly. have a hairstyle that is easy. Benadryl or Ibuprofen are good "just in case' things to take. Don't be afraid to ask for something or challenge something. Watch the locals and engage if you can. set your pace and don't second guess it. I have a couple videos of my trip. I don't do it for clicks. I do it for various ppl in family that may like to know what I am up to.

I love that last quote. I lost my husband of 45 years ago and just can’t seem to make the leap to travel solo. You have encouraged me to try

Just found your channel. I can so relate to you. I did travel by myself to Sicily last December and met up with my daughter who got engaged there. I then traveled for 2 weeks by myself. I was so proud of myself after I did it. I had a few moments of feeling lonely and wanting to share how beautiful this place was with someone. I would like to try it again. Thank you for sharing.
