Plus one for nature and music and movement as mood lifters. Also, when I feel like I'm struggling with something I journal about it and that helps me work through the issue and identify solutions. When it's just rattling around in my head it feels like that energy has nowhere to go, but when I put it down on the page it's a release for me. Not everyone loves journaling but I find it really helpful.

I love the background of nature and the sound of birds chirping. Is nice watching your video. During the pandemic, I was always out by water and trees. I stopped doing all that you mentioned. I think after me not doing what I enjoy doing in the past has kept me not motivated.

I have resonated with every detail you shared. Thank you❤

I agree!!! Walks are so good for us.

Hi Gail, you are such a natural in front of the camera! I hear the uplifting, practical coach and the wise friend in you as you speak--both are so lovely. I resonated with all your mood shifters. Beauty and nature mean so much to me. I also love to dance out my frustration or anger until it turns to tears. A good cry is necessary for me when I have sadness, disappointment, or anger to release. Thank you for another wonderful video for all of us!

when I am sad and depressed I spend a huge part of my time in the nature, walking through the fileds in the countryside or in the mountain. If the grief is very deep I also plan to travel somewhere , usually I take the airplain and visit another country, because when i will be back it will also be a new beginning for me.

Hi , thank you so much for all these tips , I agree walking in nature is so important,it definitely lifts me up, I also find that certain yoga postures can rid you of sadness, hip postures can release so much , we woman hold our pain there , it’s not the fist time I’ve had a good cry after doing them , plus you feel so light once the tears subside, I love your honesty, I feel if you can be honest with yourself, you are halfway there to be able to cope with life , thanks from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿x

Gale.... so nice to meet you. Is your full name Abigail and shorten to Gile. I keep coming back to your YouTube "60and solo" channel to fully understand what I was experiencing for myself at the end of my military career. I am learning so much from you. It is so wonderful to hear your story. Your YouTube channel is very uplifting. My job in the military was a 42A known as HR and my Navy career was as a Corpsman as a US medical specialist. I have always been a personality that maintained a life of "Lily Pad" multi job holder in both the civilian jobs market and holding down my military career (multi military holds at different times of Navy 12 years and Army 12 years) idea was holding the military and civilian jobs at the same time. I just retired from the Army after "Somehow making 24 years. "... when you turn 60 ... you must retire "as in feels like forced out"... felt like fired as my gig was always maintained my life as a frog jumping from Lily pad...or gig to gig. Loving the results of what I was able to do... but when the gig of the military finished up for me... I was shocked... like I was fired.... my new combination gig is everything Airport... working Airport Safety and the second job for the airlines. You are so right about finding yourself...and giving yourself new options for new job opportunities. Even someone like me who always jumped from "Lily pad to Lily pad" did not plan my end game well enough with the military to realize the great loss in my identity I would suffer from when I turned 60. I thought the gig would just keep going... but age is a "gig" you cannot outrun... you must "reinvent yourself again".... who know that your YouTube channel would be there for me to "pick up the pieces of my soul".... I really miss my military life. I am grateful to you for helping me to bring closure to my military life. I was not fired...I just got older at the end of a military career...my age fired me...🧞‍♀️by the way... my name is Jeannie
