  Gen Z is basically split between very progressive and very conservative. I&apos;ve always said we were a very polarized generation, a generation of extremes, and it turns out that&apos;s true for many reasons. We also have a huge problem with substance abuse, mental health, school shooters, etc. I think it correlates. We kinda have black and white, all or nothing thinking.

  I think it’s worth mentioning also how social media naturally creates pipelines. Over on the male side, the totally neutral viewer of gym content is 5 videos away from Hustler’s University. On the female side, aesthetic content, nutrition content, clean beauty content is 5 videos away from trad wife content with a cohesive worldview. There’s a ton of completely innocent topics that have created pipelines.

  I think a big reason behind the tradwife thing becoming so romanticised was due to so many young women feeling disillusioned with the intense work and ambition culture that come with a capitalist society. I feel it became aestheticised and romanticised because people liked the idea of being taken care of and being ‘just a girl’, without truly thinking about how dangerous it would actually be

  Former Trad wife here. I was an abused slave to my terrible husband. Children were emotionally abused. I don’t know what people are talking about divorce benefiting the woman. My husband just denied abusing us and the California court left us with very little. He and his family members weren’t punished for abusing us. I was treated worse than him. He made Al the money yet the courts stated he only had to pay minimal amounts for us. These men are delusional if they think women just walk away with everything.

  I used to infantalize myself with the “I’m just a girl”, “girl math”, dumb blonde stereotype, etc. and I felt myself getting dumber and that was terrifying

  When I was younger, I thought society would naturally become more progressive and inclusive over time, and that conservatives were just delaying the inevitable.<br><br>Recent years have shown me that things aren&apos;t that simple. It&apos;s always going to be a fight, and the bigotry of the past will always find new ways to adapt.

  “Vintage fashion, not vintage values!” pretty active in the vintage fashion community (not just thrifting, I mean people who like to actually dress in 40s, 50s, even edwardian fashion, often with actual true vintage pieces from those eras) and this a big mantra in this community. You can love cottagecore, flowy dresses, hyperfeminine fashion, period fashion etc and even enjoy some activities/tendencies from the past like homemade bread, investing in clothing that lasts, homemaking or whatever, but recognize that we are very grateful for living in modern times and do not want to go back to times when women couldn’t even have a bank account
