Quote from a family member, hearing me watching Cracking the Cryptic - "Is that the man that solves sudokus but hates doing sudoku?"

End of the puzzle, doubled 5-6-1 isn’t legal because of the 1-5 in the corner. So you’re stuck with d5-4-3 or d6-4-1, making r8c8 always 4

Not sure what's happened to the recording of the webcam, it drops out of sync, with the screen recording and Audio. Thankfully the Screen recording and Audio remain in sync, so the clicks and cell entries match Simon's voice.

Great to have a Jay Dyer puzzle on the channel again.

\*just stares, and stares, and stares, and stares at the 24 pairs that can't possibly equal 6 if a 2 is doubled...*

The forced 4 in R8C8 is the beautiful breakout of this puzzle. If R8C8 is 6, it forces double 5 and 1 to sum to 17 and that breaks R9C9. Then, as R8C8 is 4, R5C8 becomes blue 56 and colouring places blue 56 in R2C2.

I spent about 30 minutes, screaming at the TV for him to un-purplify his 2-4 pair in box 2 and box 4 that way he could use sudoku to figure out where his double digits were. I haven’t seen stressed like that since I watched football regularly. 😂😂

Aw, I always enjoy Jay's puzzles, couldn't take my eyes off this one as well!

Welcome back, Jay Dyer. Simon should try the recent puzzle by Phistomefel since he returned as well.

Nice one, it's been too long since a Jay Dyer puzzle has appeared.

An absolutely incredible puzzle. Just ridiculous how it solves so beautifully.
