Would like an equipment video. Layers, budget vs. bigger brands, canvas vs. tarp, boots etc...

Been following TA fishing for many years and then stumbled across this looking for bushcraft stuff. I have to admit a certain jealousy of being able to spend this much time with my dad just dicking about in the woods knocking stuff up as the thought occurs to us. I realise it isn't that easy and you've both worked hard to put things together on YT etc - but these things just don't happen for a lot of people, me included, but I always enjoy watching you both on a project and how rewarding it must be to be able to do those things together being boys in the woods and nothing else for miles

I’ve slept in a diamond shelters for 30 years at the pre 1840 rendezvous in the southeastern USA. NEVER GOT WET, NEVER GOT COLD AND IT ALL FITS IN THE FROUNT SEAT OF MY TRUCK😁

I use number 5 for when I just want to get away for a night but I use a bigger tarp so I can peg the bottom down as a ground sheet then a 15 foot ridgeline w/ two 3 foot long sticks (or my customized 2 piece waxwood walking stick) holding up the middle of the line that holds the roof up and the rest of the tarp makes a fly to protect a fire and to help trap heat, and when it gets colder you can fold it down and peg it down to close the tent.... It's really cool if you can peg the corners down and have another ridgeline 90° to the first one making a door and small "hallway" into the tent so it traps heat inside then close it up. Sometimes you can even fit 2 people if you have a big enough tarp and you can make the roof as high as you want by using taller sticks.... Another trick is to make a 5 or 6 foot tall stick then cut notches or use a drill/bore bit to make grooves so you can drop the ridgeline down when you get ready to sleep if you want a taller tent in the day for cooking or whatever and a lower profile at night. 👍
