Would love if you compared military surplus gear from different nations, and different time periods. And compare them with modern hiking/camping gear, and price.

Well done Mike. So nice to see somebody film the issues you can get with lighting a fire in damp conditions. You and I both know it can be a pain, but many YouTubers edit that bit to make it simple. 👍 Regards Allan.

Fishers axe is top notch, pop birch puss pockets for some easy sap for torches , a simple wood wall behind the fire to reflect heat is always a win,

With the prussik loops, just rotate the loop so the knot is in the middle of the wraps or slightly off center. Then you can easily thread it through the tie out and use a toggle.

Birch is my favourite woodland.<br>Top tip - you could have repositioned the knot on the prussik so it wasn't at the very end. The cord would then have threaded through the tie-out point easily without the need to untie and retie any knots.

I haven't seen that fire lay, before. Good to know. It's also good to see decent gear which doesn't cost the earth. Nice!

I’ve got an old Gerber axe like the one you’re using. It came danger sharp from the factory. Been using it around the house for years and it’s still as sharp as when I first got it. Great meal, beats spag bol in a can.
