  You buy a record for €5-€10 on a flea market and then let it clean by a €3000 machine. That doesn’t make sense to me. I would probably buy new vinyl instead.

  I just use the power washer. It gets right in the grooves.

  I have had a Degritter for some time now and abosolutley love it. I had a Humminguru but was very dissapointed with the results. The H-guru is good for a quick rinse and dry after a thorough vac or hand wash. I use the Degritter for all new records. I use a Vevor 6L universal for records that are used. As good as the Degritter is it is no match vs the Vevor for less than brand new records. You need a little heat for really dirty records and you cant get past about 95 degrees or so w/ the Degritter. BTW, there are some really good pure white Degritter replacement filters for about 40% less (50pk) just google search for &quot;recordscrubs&quot;. &nbsp;I only use high heat 100 degrees, when absolutley nessessary. &nbsp;I can run the Vevor longer w/o it going into a coool down mode like the Degritter does when doing deep cleaning.

  Great if you store your records on the beach and want to knock the sand off them. Doesn’t improve the sound quality enough to warrant the cost.

  No matter how well you clean and take care of them, vinyl records are inherently noisy. It&apos;s the technology, which is really outdated. Remember, record technology hasn&apos;t really changed in over 130 years; it&apos;s just been refined. The only way I can get clean sounding albums is running the record through a de-clicking program after recording it on my computer using Audacity. I always clean and de-static my records first, but to really get rid of the pops and clicks I have to use the de-clicking program. Even then it still doesn&apos;t eliminate the other surface noises like wow, flutter, and minor rumbling of the stylus running through the groove. If you want the best (meaning &quot;clean&quot;) sounding reproduction of music you have to go digital. I completely understand the aesthetic love of vinyl, but if hearing the music without surface noise is the most important thing to you, vinyl is not the best medium to do it.

  An honest review- no claims of audio nirvana like some of the more extreme gushing reviews I&apos;ve seen. The biggest selling point for me in CONVENIENCE- the ease of use, no faffing about and it does look good unlike the vast majority of the gizmos on the market. Price is of course the biggest stumbling block but if you multiply the number of hours saved faffing about and the fact that you&apos;re more likely to make regular use of it due to the automated process- it&apos;s probably worth investing in. I think I&apos;m now sold. I was weighing up the Huminguru but it still has a few drawbacks although it looks beautiful and the price point is more affordable- jeez here I go again. I&apos;m going to have to make my decision soon.

  Degritter, yes definitely makes a difference. &nbsp;Clearly quieter after treatment and a good investment for vinyl aficionados, and something I’d consider.<br>Now they need to go back to the drawing board and devise a “scratch repair technique “ that would be fantastic.<br>I read somewhere that there is a new generation of vinyl players that performs as good as cd,and I’d not affected by scratches or dirt. As you might have guessed it uses a combination of “high power” lasers. The caveat is it’s 20-25k, so probably will never have mass appeal, but a interesting alternative.<br>Keep up the great content 👍👍👍👍👍

  For the first time I saw a sincere review of a degretter. Before and After. Now I am convinced that it doesn&apos;t do any miracles, but 100% honest in its job! Thank you.

  I can cope with a few crackles and pops every now and again but continual surface noise really bugs me and I reach for the CD version. It seems like there&apos;s not a single cure for this and on quieter records like Debussy piano recordings or Tomita&apos;s Bermuda Triangle, it&apos;s really distracting.
