  If they really wanted her to be a kid again why not try and argue that upon re-entering fairyland she begins to slowly de-age back to what it was like when she was there originally. Would’ve probably lead to a few funny moments/jokes and wouldn’t, y’know, unceremoniously kill off the character we’ve followed the entire time

  i really hated that they killed the older Gert just because it was the gert we saw in the first series. even if you replace it with an exact copy it is not the same and i feel like my favorite character was killed unceremoniously and replaced with an impostor. it actually makes me not care at all about the next issues.

  To me, I Hate Fairyland as a whole kinda represents the best and worst of Image Comics. When they're on fire with something, it's really good. But they put out so much stuff that a lot of it feels like junk filler and lazy slop.

  The way they killed her off feels insulting. Like the writer hated aging her up and so he had the younger version kill her as a take that to... Himself? Like she&apos;s playing with the head of the original Gert! Even for Gert that feels too mean spirited. <br><br>Her slamming into the ground and turning into a child with no memories of her adult life, other than her remembering she escaped would be a better twist over this!

  Looks like the creator had vision and few ideas, which worked somehow for some time. But then he ran out of ideas and literally just added some fluff without content.

  Seriously what was the point of Killing Adult Gert and just giving us “original” Gert again? It’s one of the worst developments to a plot I’ve ever seen that got me to stop reading. The only interesting thing left was the Queen being in the real world but I just want Adult Gert back. Cause considering the plot is now relatively the same just with some slight differences it just feels like the plot is just going in circles.

  They killed the og just so they can repeat the original story theme again, they choose the safe route for no reason at all.

  Honeslty. I find it such a waste that the OG is gone cause she had such story telling potnetial. I mean think about it. Imagine this as a potential storyline.Why not have it so after one of her rampages she just...stops and lookks around and realizes everything is dead and she&apos;s alone and wounders why she even DID this and can&apos;t find an answer. Have the story be about her as an adult reflecting on her violence and anger and realizing she can&apos;t even rememebr WHY she hates fariyland so much, considering adulting sucks on earth so much and that maybe she was clinging to the idea of going home as a way to justifify everything she did but now feels it&apos;s just...Hollow. <br> <br>And empty. <br> <br>Give her a story of self reflection adn maturing and realizing she was always the problem and that even her first kills were just her throwing a temper tantrum and that it was kinda her own fault she got trappd in fairyland. If wanted could even have her die at the end as she did here but this time instead trying to make up for the rampages she did by saving a villaige for once and enjoying feeling like she did a good deed for once in her life and starting to walk a path of atonement/redemption. As we know that gertrude does desire to be &apos;good&apos; and sought that out before. <br> <br>Then when she dies instead of going to the dark place again she winds up waking up as her child self but back in her home and with her parents and leave it ambigous if it&apos;s heaven or her having finnaly learned a lession fariyland was trying to teach her adn she&apos;s rewarded by waking up from her &apos;dream&apos; to live a full life. <br> <br>Orrrrr if they wanna stick with the black comedy could still have a second one of her show up that&apos;s still a kid and ressurect her/drag herback to fairyland to use her to get into somewhere that children can&apos;t enter alone to get revenge on a fairy land resident that insulted her. <br> <br>I see no reason something like this couldn&apos;t of been done and having her struggle to not give into her anger and acutally learn and grow as a person. Heck even replacing her WITH an original kid gertrude would of been a pefect joke ending to her if she kinda got &apos;boring&apos; And the story wanted to resume the mayhem. But it really does feel like the creator jjust...kinda started to run out of ideas with adult gertrude and didn&apos;t want to get creative with her.<br><br>the entire idea of the Gertlings destroying fairyland alone could of been a perfect lead into this as well.

  I was super excited for volume 2 when it came out, they continued with older Gert and it was awesome. Then they killed her and I have no clue why.
