We have 6 of the version 2 Bright Mount systems and did the same thing as you did. We have 24 - 6”x6” x 5’ posts 3 feet in the ground, 2 feet out. We painted our posts with used motor oil and used 2”x6” pressure treated boards from post to post as a top cap. From the first post on the top of the East side we placed the board on the outside edge and went to the center of the second post. This board was 53.95” long. The second board went from center of second post to center of the third post and was 51.2” and the last board is 53.95 from center of the third post to the outside edge of the last post. This makes the posts stronger and protects the top of the posts. We tried a spacing of twelve feet and had shading. On our new property we are using a spacing of 14 feet. Each string of twelve is 4,860 watts time three strings. Two strings are Bright Mount, or six Bright Mount rack systems and 24 panels. The last string of twelve we will build a tilting wood rack similar to what Rodney Hunt built.
