I Love Avocados but have Always had issues choosing the perfect' or close to perfect avocado. This is awesome information and I know now I will never struggle in knowing how to pick the right avocado ❤ Thank You Mr. Yoder❤

Having been an avocado grower in California we were required to have our fruit tested for oil content before we could pick and send them to market. If the oil content is too low the avocado will never ripen. Unfortunately there is no way for the consumer to know this. I’m not sure imported avocados have the same requirement. Follow the tips on this video and you will have wonderful avocados.

I have an “avocado budget”?! Better get on that, I guess. <br><br>Meanwhile, I’ll continue to use the trick of keeping my avocados immersed in water. Seems to keep the flesh from going grey.

Thank you! Great tips for buying avocados. <br><br>I usually gently push the nub or stem cap and see if it recedes inward. If so, I assume the avocado is ripe. That ‘trick’ is not fail-proof. Now I have your tips to help me choose yummy avocados with more accuracy! And save money and disappointment from buying funky ‘cados.

The best way is to mash between thumb and forefinger. It should give just a little with a light squeeze. If one feels squeezed a lot, don’t pick it. With practice, every future pick will be perfect.

To speed the ripening place it on top of the refrigerador and the hot air from the motor will make it faster.
