Gimme a break.
SGC comes out with their service changes and the hobby jumps down their throat.
But that same hobby will send cards to PSA by the tens of MILLIONS for $80 and wait 8 months to get back a mysterious “6.”
This hobby is upsidefkndown

Would be nice if someone started a grading company that only grades sports so us baseball card people aren’t subject to the TCG volume. That could have been SGC if Collectors hadn’t bought it.

In this crazy market, one aspect of being a collector that gets overlooked is the plethora of cards coming out of the woodwork. The rare stuff leaving longtime collections because the owners want to take advantage of the market has created a unique opportunity to grab some truly rare gems.

$80 for PSA to grade your cards? I'll take a dinner for 2 at a local restaurant instead!

I have like 6 vintage cards I was waiting to send to SGC once their TATs were better again. Now they aren’t worth grading at all.

As for the Griffey in a Reds uniform. The first Superfractor was made in 2005 I believe, so if someone is a Griffey collector and wants one, they have no choice.

Grading companies are greedy and crooked. They over charge, take too long to grade and return cards. They also do a lot of mis-grading. PSA is the King of inefficiency.

With the new SGC price increases, they are closer and closer to PSA in price and wait time. The difference isn't enough to justify using SGC. Add to that SGC offers no guarantee for their work - not for authenticity or grade. The 'no guarantee' issue will become a bigger problem for SGC as their prices and wait times get closer to PSA, especially for the higher value cards. The comment by one of your users in your video about 'price anchoring' is worth remembering.
