"Being an adult is mostly just fixing the shit your parents ruined." That speaks to me on a spiritual level.

So, I made this today. I wish I could post pictures of it. And let me tell you, this is the best meatloaf I've had. Gave some to my boss and he devoured it. If you're on the fence about making it or thinking "Oh I'll make it next weekend." Go make it. Great recipe, great video.

Bubba, I get it. This time of year I keep at least 2-1/2 changes of clothes in the truck. At lunch break I'm stringing up laundry so I at least have something dry to drive home with.
Love the meatloaf breakdown, I still love my Mom's the best; all she used was meat and maybe a pack of Liptons onion/mushroom soup mix. Green beans, maybe mac & cheese, or canned baked beans as sides.

My Mom died when I was 23. We never had any money, but she did her best. But I still make lots of her recipes that I know by heart just by helping her in the kitchen throughout my childhood. I wish she got to know how good of of a cook that I actually became...

Loved this video! Brings back lots of great memories. My Italian grandmother would make meatloaf totally full of garlic, onions and peppers with Italian sausage mixed in. . Her glaze was ketchup, brown sugar and hot peppers. My mom made a more traditional Deep South meatloaf using 2/3 beef and 1/3 pork. Both were great. But mom’s leftovers were sliced and warmed up by browning in bacon fat and then serving over grits with fried eggs on top. I don’t know how she expected me to stay awake in class after that. I will be smoking your recipe this weekend!! Also really enjoy the back story’s on the food history.

I love the music in this one, Joe. Between the meatloaf and the music this one really made me think about my mom and my grandmothers.
(Just for reference, I am 40yo.) When I was a kid, meatloaf in our house was never something groaned about or avoided. My Grandma worked as a public school cafeteria cook for 30 years back in a time when the food they made was not frozen. Once or twice a month they would even make fresh fried chicken. IN A HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA. The point here being that my mother and both my grandmothers were actually good cooks, and this video of yours took me on a little trip down memory lane and I just wanted to share that with you. Cheers, bro.
