  The reason that it is important for younger generations to know how to read cursive is because historical documents were written in cursive.

  Before you need to know what highway to go on and find it first on the map. You have to find where you are at on the map so you can find your way to the highway you need to get on 😂

  Yes, we had ID and insurance along with jobs to pay for all those things and were taught to follow the basic responsibilities of having a car.

  When I was 13, my parents left me and my siblings alone for 3 weeks to go on vacation. They were 14, 16 and 17.  My sister was the oldest and they left her in charge.  I didn't see her for 3 weeks... she just stayed with her friends.  My 16 year old brother made molotav cocktails in the garage... and threw them in the street while cruising.  My other brother had some friends over... and they brought fireworks. We had such good times hiding from cops at 3am. (Edit: I should add that I'm Gen X)

  I&apos;m Gen X &nbsp;(1970)- married at 22 -- now for 36 years. We had 4 kids by the time we were 30!<br><br> Everyone forgets Gen X - you forgot we&apos;re your parents! I have 4 millineal kids, who gave us precious grandchildren. <br><br>So glad my grandchildren are learning basic skills, like cursive writing and normal math, like we did. <br><br>Karen Morgan is also an attorney who put law to the side for comedy. She&apos;s 100% correct about &nbsp;Gem X&apos;ers. No matter where we lived &nbsp;in the US , we experienced the same thing. <br><br>Patrents would be in jail today for child abuse and neglect today, but it was normal back then. &quot;Let the dog lock it&quot; was common - Chuckie the Golden Retriever&apos;s spit seemed to work fine. &nbsp;We&apos;re all still here and doing great! <br><br>Being a teen in the 1980s was the best!<br><br>KAREN MORGAN GOAT!!!   I am the same age as her and everything she said is true. Good for you, at least for trying to read cursive. It phased out as we moved to computers and keyboards. Most of us went from analog to digital and I have worked in tech for years. I still drive a manual-transmission, six-speed sports car. Pretty much all my vehicles were stick-shift.
