Nice Jack Sam o'nella is a goldmine of reaction channels. Especially with someone like you who knows a whole lot about this stuff that makes these videos even more entertaining.

Grant was the 18th President of the US, which the fact you were right is impressive as few Americans know that. Also Garfield was also a Civil War hero who's actions during the Civil War helped launch his success politically.

One of the funniest things about this story to me is that a big part of his motivation was fame. He chose the ivory grip revolver because he expected it to end up in a museum. But the thing is, the revolver WAS going to be in a museum, but it was misplaced and no one really gave a shit. It's just so funny to me that he murdered the president mainly for fame and clout, and he's the least remembered presidential assassin. Life's kinda funny like that.

Funny or sadly enough, we were suppose to clean our medical tools after the civil war but apparently this wasn't always the case despite learning from our mistakes

Garfield was also an American Civil War hero.

15:00 Fun fact, part of his defense was the argument that Garfield would've survived it if not for the doctors messing up the wound, hence why he wasn't guilty of murder. Didn't work, but good try.

I know this is late, but there’s an awful fact about Garfield’s time in hospital that I must spread upon you all like a pox. A guest at the surgery was Alexander Graham Bell, and hearing of the president’s shooting he came to test his early prototype of a metal detector to help find the bullets lodged in his body. Each time the machine went off and the doctors would begin cutting around where it sounded, they found nothing. They found out after way too many attempts that the machine was just picking up the metal bed springs from the mattress Garfield was laid on. While he probably wouldn’t have survived anyways, Graham definitely didn’t help his chances.🗿
