  People worry about lithium on a boat, yet leave a phone on charge all night on their bedside table. &nbsp; Smart phone is lithium ion.<br>Lithium ion and lithium phosphate are completely different things.<br>Your Propane is more dangerous then lithium lifep04.

  The behavior of the LiFePO4 cells in the event of a malfunction is often overlooked. The pressure relief valve opens, releasing hot gases that contain many explosive (high hydrogen content) and toxic substances. These gases need a safe way to escape. And just to be clear: This can happen even without any user error, for example, due to a manufacturing defect in the cell.<br><br>In many DIY boat installations, these batteries are stored directly under beds or in tight wooden boxes. There is no proper ventilation and no heat-resistant path for the gases to escape. Additionally, the ventilation system should prevent moisture from entering the battery compartment.<br><br>Although many retrofit installations ignore these considerations, surprisingly few incidents occur with LiFePO4 batteries on boats, which speaks to the safety of this technology. And the article is absolutely right: Security is not just one component. It is a concept that covers the entire system.

  Very, very good video Tim. &nbsp;You hit the major issue on the head, installing LiFePo4 is a system upgrade not just a battery replacement. &nbsp;So called &quot;drop-in LiFePo4 batteries&quot; simply don&apos;t exist. &nbsp;If you don&apos;t know what you are doing there are a few good sources of information on the Internet, but vet your sources carefully. &nbsp; Keep the good stuff coming.
