  40 years ago, I was just starting to 'break into' the Hollywood film/tv production system.  One of my first jobs was typing a script for a Warner Bros/Bogdanovich film.  Warner Bros paid for a hotel suite for Bogdanovich's 2 writers to have peace & quiet... and write.  I reported to this Hotel for 2 weeks typing away all day (on a real typewriter, computers were not around).  I was allowed to order room service every day for my lunch...my gosh the meals were always amazing (and Warner Bros generously paid).  One day the writers took me to the Polo Lounge for lunch (my first time there).  Unfortunately Warner Bros decided not to make the film, but I was fortunate to live my dream for 17 years working in Hollywood for various execs/ producers/ writers/ agents.  And I returned to this Hotel many times for other events!

  I bought a 1950s or 60s secretary from a local thrift store here in Virginia for $40. &nbsp;It was too gorgeous &amp; completely classic to walk by and not rescue. &nbsp;2 years later, after getting it out of my storage unit and bringing it home to be used in my new sitting room, I was cleaning it and noticed a faded silky pink/lite burgundy matchbook stuck in the back of a drawer. &nbsp;It was from The Beverly and it was old! &nbsp;I recognized it immediately. &nbsp;As I kept cleaning, I also came across a paper auction tag…..also from California. &nbsp;My assumption is, the hotel’s decor may have undergone a refresh and furniture items where purchased by dealers and resold OR the original owner of the secretary may have once stayed at The Beverly long enough to pick up the matches and then later his/her furniture was sold at an estate auction. &nbsp;Either way, I have it now in Virginia and will take good care of it. &nbsp;One day I’ll pass it down to my family who I hope will take over being a good custodian. &nbsp;Funny what a small world it is that we live in!!<br><br>CHEERS

  My beloved Beverly Hills Hotel. I spent my honeymoon there the summer they were planning on renovating Marilyn Monroe&apos;s suite, 1A. I was honored to be allowed to go in and see her suite. Her presence was definitely there. The suite was stunning and very laid back with a classic touch of old Hollywood. Unfortunately, the new renovated look is not what it looked like before. I literally ran into Prince in the hallway. He actually stopped and talked. I think he was impressed we were the same height. He was there for his hair appointment. He was sweet, polite and so kind. Seven months later, he passed. R.I.P. &nbsp;Prince Rogers Nelson🌹

  I was about 11 years old in the 60&apos;s and my Mother took me to the Polo Lounge. It was supposed to be the &quot;place to be seen&quot; While the Lounge was nice, there were very few people there. My Mother asked to see a Bungalow and a Double room. I have got to tell you it was rather run down and the grounds were not well tended. I am 73 now and it is a kick to see how it is today !

  I actually stayed/lived there for almost two months, waiting for my fiance to secure a home for me. Not cheap but incredible service, food...etc. Best scrambled eggs in the coffee shop. That was in 1988/89. Just lovely.🙏

  I worked in the Polo Lounge. I absolutely loved it. I&apos;m so thrilled to see Pepè still working there.

  I&apos;m glad I had my one night in the Polo Lounge with a work mate. It was fun. We had two rounds sitting in the booth next to Alan King, who sent our second round having noticed we were having ourselves paged. At the time the phone was being brought to your table after very loudly being paged. Of course, I was not about to use my name at that point. Oh, what fun it was to hear them yell out the French name I gave them with the accent. LOL, I love I had that experience as a memory in my life. I would never have done that on my own in the 70&apos;s. I was with a very brazen work mate was willing to go the distance at any cost.

  What they left out is that the Beverly Hills Hotel sued the Eagles and their record company for Defamation for using the image of the Hotel on the album cover. The Eagles&apos; attorney asked one question, and the case was immediately dismissed. He asked, Has the Hotel&apos;s revenue increased as a result of this Free Worldwide Advertisement on the Album Cover? &nbsp;They were forced to admit that their revenue had increased three times over their normal earnings. The Judge dismissed the lawsuit. Basically, you cannot sue for defamation if you suffered no damage and all they did was increase the hotel&apos;s check-in rate.

  Isn&apos;t that a beautiful hallway? The light green carpet, the white designer interior doors, and the wall panels are incredibly beautiful. Very, very beautiful and so bright. And it&apos;s also nice to see wall lamps again. They create such a harmonious and subdued yet bright light.

  Mr. Boggs appears to be a rather down-to-earth, friendly guy, considering the responsibility that he carries. I find that to be quite refreshing. &nbsp;:)
