  In Siberia, private prospectors primarily mine this fine gold. A method for quickly purifying this gold in the field was discovered by chance. All prospectors carry Rolton instant noodles. The containers with these noodles have a lid made of very slippery white plastic. All you need is the lid and a thin tube (like a pen tube). This white plastic has an interesting property: dry fine gold adheres to it, but the black sand does not. Apparently, this is due to the strong electrostatic properties of the plastic. Simply gently blow through the tube onto the mixture of gold and concentrated gold on the lid, and all the concentrated gold flies away, with no gold loss at all. But if this method doesn't suit you and you don't like eating Rolton, then, of course, you can look for ways to spend more money on equipment.

  The best way is just dry the gold so dry where you can blow the sands away. It will separate, you can literally magnetize it first and get all the most of the black sands that are magnetized, but the little bit that's left over you can put down on the ground and blow the sands away perfectly away from the gold. It's easy and fast.

  They sell a magnet with a release handle to pick up the black sand magnetite and release over a different pan.

  Great demonstration Dave! You have added an aspect of the Goldrop that I had not considered me not being a gold miner. With your insight, you have truly demonstrated the versatility the Goldrop has to offer. From processing pay dirt with 99+% recovery rate of 100 mesh Gold as established by Dave Kopp at Yuba Industries to finish a final cleanup of the recovered Gold with ease to add to the vault in the mattress as demonstrated by Dave who doesn't sleep and has no mattress! This set up is amazingly small and compact for your purpose. For the prospector, the system is expandable with multiple siphon drums to accommodate greater quantities of water to bulk process a yard of pay dirt a day classified 1/8" giving the prospector wet wash capabilities in dry desert conditions. A very much more efficient processor for Gold recovery than a dry wash puffer box sluice. Goldrop's versatility gives the Gold miner and prospector a big advantage with such a small device as Goldrop. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

  A trick I use to separate gold from black sand is to slowly drop the sand and gold mixture in front of a fan and by the time it hits the ground (gold pan) only gold is in the pan and the black sands are blown beyond the pan where I lay a long strip of black paper so I can see if gold is landing on the paper and usually all the gold lands in the pan…

  I will forever call this "The Percolator". I love watching this thing work. I can't help but wonder how this would work on a larger scale... if it would even work, or if it would require a modular setup with several similarly sized units. Calibrating the precipitation chamber seems like it would be the biggest issue.

  Use a rare earth neodymium magnet in a plastic bag to remove the magnetite which is magnetic, then there is less black sand to deal with.
