  I had switched from Advantage to Plan G because I'm totally risk-averse. Good thing I did. Out of the blue, I got neurological symptoms that made it impossible to type, write, knit, hike, or even walk my dog. (Fast forward several months--turns out they were caused by the neurosurgeon who treated me 15 years ago). Because I live in a part of the country with very poor medical coverage, my PCP referred me to a university medical center in another state. I got first class care--surgery, hospitalization, home health all were billed to Medicare at over $350K. I paid nothing. If I had been on Advantage, I most likely would have been limited to the surgeon who caused my problem in the first place. And next week I'll go hiking with my dog for the first time in over a year.

  As a person who got the unexpected news of cancer , I am thankful for having chosen a supplemental plan. My cats also appreciate the fact I didn’’t have to cut into their food budget!

  Regular Medicare plus a Plan G supplement was the absolutely obvious choice to me, because I want to choose my practitioner, treatment, facility, etc., rather than being tied down to one particular group.

  My best health benefit is the relationship I share with my wonderful cat. Eddie. &nbsp; I am an elderly woman in good health except that I continue to age, darn it ! &nbsp; I have been studying the market and feel that the medicare supplement plan is the way to go. &nbsp; One significant surgery or illness could wipe me out on the Advantage plan. &nbsp; I probably will stay. &nbsp; &nbsp;The premiums are mighty and I have to practice a very rigid economy to afford this and that gives me pause but will probab;y go ahead. &nbsp; &nbsp;Thank you for the well expressed video.

  I will be 65 in April 2027 but I started my Medicare research 6 weeks ago. &nbsp;Besides asking older friends what they did and why, I&apos;ve watched a lot of videos (over 50) on YouTube. &nbsp;You&apos;ve created a very informative video and you are the first person who addressed the travel angle outside the big problem kind of statement. &nbsp;It is appreciated. &nbsp;My dogs liked your voice and especially liked your elephant figurine.

  I work as an agent with Medicare health plans. Whenever I talk to someone new to Medicare, I always tell them that it’s a confusing system and most of the people I talk to say they don’t really understand their options. Just know that Medicare insurance is completely different from other types, like employer coverage. You are not alone, don’t ever think you’re dumb for asking questions or feel like you should already know everything. That is our job, not to just enroll you in some random plan and make commission. If you feel like someone is not taking the time to explain things and answer questions, they don’t deserve the commission. The other important thing to remember is that most people are used to employer insurance, where the options are limited. There are so many options with Medicare, and because of that, there is no good or bad plan or plan type. Some people swear by supplements, but for plenty of people, it’s not a good fit. Even within advantage plans or drug plans, there is a lot of variety. That’s why an agent should be thorough and ask plenty of questions.
