  As a diesel mechanic for 35 years I was impressed  in 2023 when I  toured Brutus and will return. Go see it!

  When I was 10 years old my family of 8 kids went and seen it working, I was amazed how big it is! My wife and I was able to climb to the top! Now my family with two children, have gone to see it several times, but now it's time for the seven Grandkids to see it!!

  I've fish the last pit he dug this year. It was hard to fish but pretty neat when you got close to him on the water and seen all the bed rock that got last wide open in the water

  My grandpa worked on Brutus when I visited my grandparents u could hear Brutus for miles

  We first visited Brutus in June, 1986 as a diversion after the funeral of a much loved relative.  It was impressive to first see BB from some miles away on the Kansas prairies.  The friends and relatives we have taken to the BB park have greatly enjoyed seeing the huge "tool"!       Do not listen to the negative story with this video.

  I visited around 2004, but it must have been a little before the death of the base jumper, because I was still able to climb to the top of the boom.

  Yes, there is a lot of disinformation that is based on what the narrator assumes, but is wrong.  My dad & I actually stood in the operating room for 20 minutes while it was working, back in 1962.  Here are facts: it is all electric, it had a cord to run an air conditioner for the operator while he worked & a refrig for snacks.  It was extremely smooth & quiet while operating, when it picked up a load of dirt & swung it 180 degrees to dump it, it actually felt like the world was moving instead of the bucket, there was an elevator from the ground to inside floor & then we had to walk to the operating room from there.  We walked to BB from our car at the parking area, which was in the pit, for a quarter mile & followed the giant electrical cord.  I envy the folks who climbed to the top, & also the student who sat on the bank & watched it for an afternoon.  I've visited it, my kids, & grandkids also & it is a fond memory.  I am glad it is there, being taken care of, & not growing up in weeds like the video makes it sound.  Long live BB.
