I was born in Butte, Montana and studied the massive steam hoists that had been converted to compressed air and operated into the 1960 era. They were mostly Nordberg engines but the name of Allis-Chalmers was everywhere in the mill at Anaconda. hose were magnificent old machines

Saw this at the museum where it is on display in its glory. It's attached to the museum displaying the last intact glider of WWII. Unfortunately, this vid is way too long and too much information for most people.
