And the other from illness, only six months after becoming Empress.:_baobunCry:
And after that, no Empress would ever live at Kunning Palace again. :_baobunOops:

So actually The Forbidden City is The City of Ghosts... I think that the course is more of a personal emotions and choices made by Emperors. They seem so selfish...

The curse of imperial monarchism.
According to Zhen huan's line in Ruyi series : Empress position is nothing but only one of the emperor's servant. The heart of the emperor is the hardest ,or even imposiible, thing to seize.
Sadly, even Ruyi could not survived this fate.

Theres always something sad and depressing about palaces. Who could imagine the horrors the people experienced in there

What happened to Empress Wu is kind of like what happened to Catherine of Aragon; basically exiled from court in favor of another woman.

That last piece about "reaching the highest position possible in the world, only to discover that they didn't have love, they didn't have freedom, and they didn't even have control over their own lives..." reminds me of something that I heard years ago about an Emperor trapped in his position: "When we first met I had no power and all the choices I could ever want. And now I have all the power I could ever want and no choices at all. No choice at all."

I haven’t received your videos in me feed for a long time now. But every fall they will pop up again and I will start watching palace dramas again. So now I silently accept that palace drama season has come again 😂 it has become a fall cozy tradition for me 😊

I think the Emperor who planned it should of picked a better priest or shaman when he made the plans for the city... 🤣 clearly someone messed up somewhere...

It makes me so sad that Empress Qian was blocked from the Emperor's tomb, the depths of how low could Consort Zhou could stoop are impressive. Could not even allow the Empress to stay with the Emperor in death. One has to imagine the Emperor waiting for Empress Qian on the other side.
