I remember the Diamond T company. They made excellent trucks. My Grandfather owned a farm in Upstate New York in WWII and he owned a couple of Diamond T trucks. ❤

Kurt Johnnsen who pioneered cattle transport by road train used two Diamond T’s to tow three self tracking trailers behind each truck in the Australian outback

I've known about the 980 and 981 since I was a kid and I'm 46 and live in America. The reason you never see them here is because there may be only a handful in the U.S. We left them all in Europe mainly England. Awesome truck

When I was a young'un, I had a 'Dinky Toys' Mighty Antar tank transporter. Another company, Lesney, made a tank transporter as part of their 'Matchbox' line-up. The Matchbox tractor unit didn't have the make cast into the bottom but from memory I can see it was a Diamond T.

1957 ,I took a break in my Air Force career as a Jet Mechanic . My first civilian job, I went to work for my Uncle , who preferred Mack trucks . He had purchased two Diamond T surplus trucks . He mounted Concrete Mixers on the trucks, but the top speed was 25 MPH. Too slow even by New York city standards . He had new differential gears made that raised the speed .
The Drivers who drove them raved about their power . They said when a Mack got stock the Diamond T would push them out of the mud .
I was 25 at the time and worked as a mechanic , I lasted 3 months and went back into the USAF and worked on Jets . This was a great story, I love this U Tube channel . Being a very old gear head, I watch it every day and so do my friends .

My uncle drove a Diamond T in the East Texas oil fields of the 1940s. Only thing that could move some of the drilling platforms...

As a young 'un growing up during WWII in England I was quite familiar with the Diamond T heavy hauler. To a young kid over there it was an impressive piece of kit. Of course, in those days anything military was an impressive piece of kit.

Better that you research the Scammell. Much more versatile with a longer life.
