  I think it's important to note that, in Audrey's Popcast interview, she positioned her Who's the Clown persona as an exaggerated character, not entirely herself. Not to say the It Girl isn't a character either. But Audrey was quick to explain in her interview that, in fact, she's quite confident in many ways -- and now that I reflect on it, that's probably what allowed her to release such a bold album in the first place.

  What I love the most about Audrey’s writing is that it isn’t necessarily poetic or intricate like Taylor or Lana’s writing is. They are fantastic songwriters of course, but Audrey is so direct and real it sometimes feels like listening to a voice message from your friend group, and that’s something no other girl in main pop is doing

  This is my favorite thing you have ever made. I’ve been listening to you since 2023, and I don’t think I’ve heard an episode that’s so fully realized. You analyzed your take from every single angle, and there are no misunderstandings or failures seeping through the cracks. You cooked so crazy on this, but it comes so naturally.   We really have needed an Audrey for so long. This would’ve changed my life entirely if I’d have recieved this as a younger person.

  It’s fear of their own cringe-self they’ve buried under piles of shame. Most people are dorky, lame nerds at their core but they have suppressed them to become lemmings who follow every trend out of fear of being laughed at. The people who go out and be their dorkiest self without shame trigger people who are living in constant tension from feeling like they have to suppress their authentic self out of fear of embarrassment.
