  As someone who used to be a swiftie but fell off after evermore I really think we are giving her too much credit as an intellectual. I think Travis actually validates her delusion that she is this English major even though she’s never had an education past high school

  During this process of losing herself she also became a billionaire. I truly think that explains a lot. That level of wealth (and the greed necessary to get you there) does something to your brain. The empathy is not there.

  To your point about the awkward Opalite symbolism, maybe it just shows that she's not the next-level genius people claim she is. She's good at writing references into her lyrics that sound cool, but songs like The Fate of Ophelia, Karma, and even Love Story, make it clear that she doesn't truly understand them. Maybe she and Travis do make sense- they validate each other and make each other feel more intelligent and deep than they actually are.

  The infantilization of female popstars is insane.  “I can’t speak up politically because my daddy won’t let me!”  Girl she is a grown woman in her 20s (30s now) and a millionaire (billionaire now) she can speak up she just wants the valor of speaking up without actually doing anything and her daddy not liking it is her excuse.

  She said in her interview with Stephen that she does not want to go away and give someone else a shot. She’s so afraid of being forgotten and being replaced. Instead of releasing new music every year she should go to therapy

  In Summer 2024, the pop girlies were doing such different and innovative music. Chappel Roan exploded, Sabrina Carpenter made it to mainstream, Charli had Brat Summer, Beyonce had Cowboy Carter, Billie and Ariana had new music. People wanted to have fun... whether or not you like TTPD, it's not a fun, dance around record. It was never going to be TTPD summer.... and she was absolutely big mad about it. Hence we got showgirl. An album I'm told is "fun" and her "in love" and she's miserable on

  Look at who she publicly associates with. And how it’s changed over the years. She strikes me as never having got over being excluded from girl groups at school. Now she’s building legacy by associating herself with female music legends, and performing with them. She is a commercial product. She’s made herself that way, by the choices she’s made. Evermore and Folklore are exceptions to the mundane and predictable trajectory. She’s delivering what her pop culture shrewdness suggests that the public likes, and despising her audience at the same time as gullible schmucks!
