I'm surprised that you didn't mention Fight Club as a pop culture retelling of Jekyll and Hyde, but more on the side of the Jungian Shadow Self. Love your content.

Not sure how many people just comment the one word, but wanted to give a heads up that the algorithm checks engagement if comment is 7 or more words. Just found your channel and have been enjoying.

I never heard these stories growing up or throughout my life so I love hearing them from your perspective and understanding and of course this one popped up for me as I’m deeeep in shadow work!

Jekyl and Hyde is a terrific story. It’s one that fosters self-examination. The “monster” always was a part of the man. Trying to drive it out was what made it possible for it to take over.

It is a poster child for the road to hell being paved in good intentions.

Similar to Jung and the "shadow self," when I studied Jekyll and Hyde in school, we talked about the ideas of Id, Ego, and Super Ego in relation to the story.

Great Video, R.L.S. is one of my favourite authors. Have read the book and seen many movie interpretations. One of his lesser known works, "The Master of Ballantrae" has some definite "Wuthering Heights" vibes, only without the ghost.

I read it back in middle school and thought it was interesting, years later, when I read Hyde By Daniel Levine from Edward's POV.
