Love these weekly nutrition rants! Can’t wait for more of the deep dives into setting up fat loss and gain phase calories and phasing training to match the nutrition plan. Jon truly has one of the most educational and game-changing channels out there

Absolutely awesome episode so informative definitely something I am trying to pursue by putting on decent quality tissue. I’m around 76 kg at the moment trying to get 90 kg but I keep failing so miserably and it’s certainly depressing considering I never had this problem in my 20s and 30s, but I’m now 46 with a child so everything just seems so much more difficult.

Great info John. I can see my upper abs and obliques coming in so I’m guessing 15-18 percent. Once i see the lower abs I’m guessing 12 and will stop the cut. Another 8lbs in 2 months should do it.

Bro, started using an intra that is coconut water, eaa’s, carb mix, and an electrolyte mix. To say that I feel stronger during my workouts is an understatement.

I would love to be able to just willy nilly go into a fat loss phase, but every single time I cut, it takes me a 1,200 calorie defecit daily minimum, 30k steps a day, and four 60 minute treadmill runs per week for fat to start dropping. Every single time. I maintain on X and I lose on X minus 1,200 plus a shit load of cardio.

Do you recommend becoming athletic (such as learning how to play your sport) then gaining lean tissue and doing conditioning (maybe some plyos on the side), or vice versa? For example, would you make an athlete go through a what you might call a GPP phase to gain lean tissue and do general conditioning and plyos, then the next phase is for Olympic lifting and sports tasks, or vice versa?

I mean that I can't figure out how many carbohydrates and fats I need with an activity level of 18,000 steps per day and 3 light strength-training workouts per week.

I am an 18-year-old female, 170 cm tall, and weigh 53 kg.
