There is more to the UK than London. It is sad that many Americans visit London and think they've "done" the UK. Get out of London and visit the rest of my country. Go to York, Chester, Durham, Lincoln, Salisbury, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Snowdonia, Lake District, Scottish Highlands and so much more.

I'm an American Hispanic woman living in the UK. First at all, the UK wheater is variable. Yes, rain a lot. However, has it's season of hot wheater without raining.
Mostly from the end of June to the beginning of September.
Second, London is like any major city in the world, especially the Europeans' biggest citty. You need to know where to go because like every big city has a tourist traps.
3. UK has beautiful cities and counties much better than London. Many of our people only want to visit the City of London. Outside London city, you can find nice countryside. 4. Bath is a wonderful city to visit, with Roman history. 5. The Costworld has the most amazing villages. 6. The coasts of England, Wales, and Scotland are amazing. Devon and Cornwall are amazing. And Dorset has the jurassic coastline that crossed all the south coast.
7. If you like history, you'll find amazing castles around the UK.
The good thing about the UK and most Europeans countries is that you have an amazing system of transport, and you can walk or do cycling to almost everywhere.

I am an African American female and lived in the Philippines about 45 minutes outside of Manila for almost 3 years. I loved it. The people, the food, the experience. It was hard to leave when my job there ended.

Well said about Abu Dhabi! The exploitation and work conditions are some of the worst. It's a very segregated place too. Nobody mixes with each other. The tourists are in one area, the locals in another and the workers in their area. It's a really weird city like Dubai. I'm curious about Albania. It's on my radar of places to visit so I'm glad to hear you recommend it.

I totally agree. We can't ignore the massive human cost of visiting Abu Dhabi, even for a simple, non-luxurious trip. No matter how low-budget a visit might be, we have to look at what is happening behind the scenes.
The UAE government has been heavily accused by international watchdogs and UN reports of funding the RSF militias to control resources and seize agricultural land for farming in Sudan. This proxy war has fueled a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, leaving over 150,000 dead, displacing 14 million people from their homes, and tragically leaving 500,000 children dead from severe starvation and acute malnutrition.
When you combine this brutal foreign policy with Abu Dhabi’s own heavily documented track record of exploiting and deporting African migrant workers under the Kafala system, the ethical cost is just too high to support.

I appreciate your awareness as tourists from social awareness to an awareness of the strain that tourism causes in several places. Many, if not most, tourists could careless.

I think what I liked about London was the culture. I was a literature major and loved the museums and seeing all the literary landmarks and writers' homes. I also caught 4 plays for relatively cheap prices.
