  I think I know why the antennas were &quot;added&quot;. They simply had no other choice to put them on since the manufacturer of the remote control casing had only this form to offer. it would cost them a lot more to build a new casing design.<br>Speaking of which: maybe it&apos;s possible to extend the inner antenna rods to the said arms so you get more range?

  I think the sleeves are there to optimise the impedance of the specific frequency of the antenna, in this case 2.4ghz WiFi
