I got myself this Lidl Powerbank in Germany that was just sold before I started my holidays. I was a little uncertain if I should buy one of these because it has no fancy display or wireless charging capacity as many others does that are wildly available anywhere. But at least the capacity and the low price mad me give this thing a try. Up to now I bam more than satisfied with it. Does a great job with charging my phone and all that little devices that you may have with you on your holiday tour. Unlike m other, older Powerbanks this one has plenty of energy and never ran out of power up to now. I don't miss the display too much now, so I definitely can recomend this Powerbank.

I am impressed at the fact that you opened it up without jamming the screwdriver through your thumb 3 times!

I bought four of the 10,000ma version and 1 larger 20,000ma.
The smaller capacity were selling at £10 and the larger capacity at £20.
A couple of weeks after I bought them the price reduced to £7 and £14 respectively.
I find them great. They recharge my phone, tablet, Go-Pros and head torches very quickly.
Charging these power banks from the mains I also find quick and easy. I am very pleased with my purchase.

4:30 I still have a majority of legacy USB-A tech! Especially my PC output ports! We DEFINITELY still need these cables I'm afraid!

Coincidentally, picked one of these up yesterday.
I was a tad sceptical at the spec at the price point … but gave it a shot … any problems and it’s easy enough to return. So far (though early days) am impressed … seems to do what it says on the box and seems well made. Amazing value at £10.
I think your teardown verifies the thing to be pretty bulletproof .. and good to see your electrical load tests seem to show performance equally accurate.
Worth noting that, with multiple devices connected, it locks the output to 5V … according to the slim “user manual”. I assume this is to manage any conflict between devices and avoids need to discretely manage each of the 3 outputs. I got the impression this is where the 15W max load comes from.

The vast majority of us with drawers full of chargers will find they've one output to charge your old phone and it's a USB-A as that's all that existed....it's only if you've specifically gone out to buy a new charger with a slightly higher output for newer phones or tablets that will have a plug charger with USB-C outputs

Good review, thank you for it! I've just subscribed.
4:15 I think they mainly include the USB-A to USB-C cable for charging the power bank from a USB-A charger.
I think every big power bank should have a small flashlight/torch built in. It adds negligible cost, and it's very handy to have a flashlight that can run for days.

The white compound is usually not thermal but RTV (Temperature vulcanizing silicone adhesive) for shock and vibration proofing. It also getsused to secure cables down. It has a secondary helpof corrosion resistance.

Makes a change when something is cheap, but a decent product and they certainly made it tamper proof, you can't even really complain about the 15W output because it's as described and in my opinion 15W is fine for charging phones and tablets.
