  important to note that spirit urn is was reworked into a solo objective, and the team fight objective was turned into the unstable rift(think king of the hill).

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDXepZlpwQ4&amp;t=1142">19:02</a> Interesting question actually, however, this was an era when they were experimenting heavily with the urn mechanic so it would be changing (sometimes completely) every couple of days, Nightshift is on one night each week and so they didn’t really ‘save the strat’ for a paid tournament, it just happened to work out that way. ALSO a Walmart-sponsored tournament with a $12k prize (the second highest prize pool in deadlock history) was scheduled for that weekend and so they wanted to use the strat in <b>this</b> game specifically so it could be highlighted and changed in time for <b>that</b> tournament. Crazy time in deadlock history honestly

  I hate the egg meta because pros make it work but the 0-12 venator on my team is holding his egg at 45min and keeps spamming trust the process in chat

  To be fair about the mc strategy, this was not the biggest tournament. That weekend there was a huge tournament and the patch that came out ensured that bigger tournament didn&apos;t have this abusable mechanic.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDXepZlpwQ4&amp;t=33">0:33</a> I had this exact same feeling about deadlock and I never started until this update came out. it&apos;s like overwatch you just have to jump into it and learn as you go, once you play a couple games things start to make sense and learning the timing, map, phases and waves comes naturally. this is my first MOBA too so I have to learn that whole aspect but the gameplay and heroes feel really nice

  Was it unethical? Yes, absolutely. But it exposed the strategy to the entire playerbase and forced Valve to confront it, which got it patched incredibly quickly. We don&apos;t know if they were already working on fixing it beforehand or not, but I think the ends justified the means. Besides, it&apos;s not like egg shenanigans disappeared overnight after this. As long as there are comeback mechanics, the egg meta will always come back.
