You didn't turn the CD ROM drive into a music player. It already was a music player. You just added an amp circuit and loudspeakers. ;)

that same creative cd drive that came with a bundle sound card and speakers crashed 2 of my discs to bits back in 2000s hahaha

Даже не знаю,что из этого сложнее найти - живой сд привод или привод с кнопками плей или привод у которого еще и пульт есть))

oh.... A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... I doing same thing 20 years ago with LCD (16x2) showing tracks and time, custom buttons and capable to play MP3 from data cdrom...

Так делали в конце 90 ых, в начале 2000. Когда CD приводы были распространены. А CD плееры стоили дорого.
