  There are valid reasons to pay someone to cut your grass:  vacation, age, demanding job, high income.  But paying for it because you don't want to "look poor"  is just STUPID!

  I was a severe alcoholic for a solid decade. As you would imagine I also made horrible financial decisions during that decade. I am nearly 1 year sober and so far I have paid off all of my debt with the exception of about $5k I owe on my car. My credit has gone from about 540 to now 680 after quitting drinking. I met a woman and now we are having a baby so I can honestly say my life is great right now. Just wanted to share my story because most people in real life don't want to hear about this stuff lol.

  It's a rule for me that I don't lend money I don't intend to lose. I once sold a car to somebody in my family for a total bargain price. They literally blew up the car within a month then refused to pay me. I forgave that, but I don't forget.

  I'm 62 and mow my lawn, plow my driveway and sidewalk, rake my leaves, trim my trees, clean my gutters, maintain my house, maintain my car, and do my own shopping and cooking. And I will continue to do so as long as I am physically able. I don't give a crap about my image. I'll call someone when I need a new roof.

  I own a lawncare service,  35 dollars is not profitable if you are licensed, insured,  and paying taxes.

  Yeah it cost $35 to get your grass cut...in like 2005.<br><br>As someone who uses a lawn service, your lawn doesn&apos;t just look pretty if you get it professionally cut. You need to water it, fertilize it, aerate it, and irrigate it. All of which is expensive. Judging someone for cutting their own lawn is the stupidest &quot;flex&quot; ever.

  I literally just came in from mowing my lawn. If I paid someone to mow my lawn it would cost about $800-$1200 over the spring and summer months where I live. It&apos;s wild this guy is ridiculing people for not WASTING money over something I&apos;m perfectly capable of doing.

  What about enjoying frugality and getting a kick out of it? &nbsp;It&apos;s all about mind-set. &nbsp;If you think &quot;poor me!&quot;, you&apos;ll be miserable. &nbsp;But if you think &quot;HAHA! &nbsp;I just saved 10 bucks&quot; and treat it like a competition, it can be fun.

  Take it from a 55 year old that had to retire early due to heart problems, Do not go into your 40&apos;s without a backup financial plan, I had to retire at 45 it took me 5 years to get disability , with that i receive 1100 a month and 85 as month on snap as the waiting list for housing is 10 years minimum here i have been with my parents since i was 45 i recently buried my mother and have one parent left, when he goes i am by myself with nowhere to go. DO not get yourself into my position the only saving grace my heart is so bad i may not live to 60
