I was that target audience. Had it for a year or so. The reason I unsubscribed was it taught me how to cook a variety of cuisines, and I could do that on my own without the extra cost and hassle of inconsistent quality. So I feel like I “graduated” from needing it.

The white spot on my face is sunscreen. So excited to nerd out about business that I didn't wipe it in.

Good times. 😕

I tried Hello Fresh when my son was first born to try to save time. Not only did it not feel like saving time, but I felt really bad about all the packaging that was being thrown away. I cancelled after a few months, but I did get one recipe out of it that I still make.

What I really needed was just something to give me a meal plan so I didn't have to think about what I was going to cook that week. Luckily I found a nice blog / mailing list that sends out weekly family meal plans and I pick 2-3 of those meals to make.

I still have my Betty Crocker cookbook from the 1950s. That’s my blue apron.

We did a meal service like this in the past and it was convenient, but all the dinners just started to taste the same so we canceled.

Great video. I interviewed at Blue Apron once. Turns out a dodged a bullet by not getting hired.

It was insanely expensive for what it was. Bespoke prices for stuff you can make yourself didn't make any sense. And then we realized it was the same price as restaurant prices, and we didn't have to do dishes.

I did Blue Apron a few times. It’s fun for the first couple of weeks, but then you start falling behind on cooking, and before you know it, you’re throwing away expensive food.

We did Hello Fresh for 6 or 7 years but the price kept going up and the quality went down so we cancelled. We still have a stack of their recipes at home, so we just buy the ingredients from the grocery store and cook it ourselves. It's less expensive and tastes better.

At first I was unsure if I liked this channel's approach (guy walking through forest as he talks). But it grew on me within minutes. It felt like I was having a one-on-one video call with the channel. It's refreshing given most channels involve someone sitting at a desk with a bunch of distracting lights, photos, and bookshelves behind them. I like this channel.

I used Blue Apron for a brief time when I was working really long hours but still wanted to cook. The recipes were easy, good enough and didnt require me to plan or shop. I was making a lot so the price didnt bug me.

I got into a better work situation and canceled as soon as I had the time to shop. Haven't been back since.
