  Thank you so much! I’m going to try this in my practice today. I’m pretty new to the cello and by the end of my practice sessions my bow wrist is painful and I have to stretch it.

  how to keep the hand relaxed if the elbow needs to be that high? and is the bow moving motion in the hand or arm? i don't get how to move with elbow

  Hi Jonathan,<br>When i play open handed on A string , i hear a bad sound . It seems like screaming in a Horror movie 😅<br>I treied to change speed and weight and angle but unfortunatly it didn&apos;t work.   No idea if you&apos;ll see this a year later, but I was told by my teacher (and my book) that placing the pinky on top of the frog is the &quot;violin way&quot; and that it should be relaxed beside the bow. But, I see your pinky on top. &nbsp; So which is it? I certainly sometimes feel I have more control that way, but I&apos;m not sure I understand the physics of the mechanics (As an engineer I like to understand the scientific reason why certain mechanics are better than others)<br>Also, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfRO4cwYtwo&amp;t=208">3:28</a> perfectly highlights my cello playing 😀 &nbsp;But as I&apos;m getting more used to it, the pressure and intensity levels are coming down. I&apos;m starting to feel more comfortable with the instrument. However, sight reading new music tends to drive that tense-ness up as I struggle to play through it.
