Ironically I first heard this myth when I was in the Air Force and we all knew it was total horse manure. First, there is really no way an Airman would even get access to a JATO to put it on their car, and secondly even if they did, there is no way in hell a car would fly for a mile, not even with an optimal trajectory given a JATO unit burns for less than a minute and would be the ONLY thing keeping the car in the air.

Extreme nostalgia today. I have lost both my parents to old age in the past year (89 and 95). Mythbusters and The Beatles were the only two things the whole family could agree on at the holidays.
