Love the interview with Sheryl Crow. I learned a lot of things about her that I did not know. Your interviewing skills are impeccable. Thank you for all that you do! ❤

We're old dudes and we ROCK! Rick, I just want to mention how much we appreciate you. You have taught me so much both on your channel and in your Beato Book. It's all too common to complain about stuff you don't like, but forget to commend the good things. You are one of the good things! 💓💓💓

Yo Rick, I'm still mentally stuck on your "Never Gonna Let You Go" analysis. I revisit it every so often, it felt so thorough. You're a legend.

Love you brother! Recently retired, 68 year old analog Audio Engineer here... trained by Bob Yesbeck at Omega in 1980-82, then had my own businesses; Live reinforcement and remote recording based in Telluride (only game in town throughout the 80s!) Then Boulder Colorado and Carlsbad, California, and in Alamosa , CO... concurrent w/ live stuff, only retail music store in 100 mile radius and a recording studio the last years of the store.
Your channel is always awesome man!!! 🙏🏼

Took a 1984 Commodore Music Maker Kit into a Commodore 64 and wired it into a Hammond Organ B-3 and managed to play the Toccata Fugue in D minor through a Leslie Speaker all the way through before everything caught fire! I screamed uncontrollably, what a night to remember. E. Power Biggs would of been proud!!

One of most significant shifts from Pro Tools TDM to HD was that it went from fixed point to floating point processing, so the mix engine was completely revamped to accommodate the additional headroom available over the previous fixed point environment.

That could be what you are hearing Rick, your ear might be more accustomed to working within the confines of the old school fixed point logistics, which would be closer to traditional signal paths/gain staging ?
