Something like &quot;I&apos;d return the compliment, but I don&apos;t know what you look like.&quot; and I love how with Toph they don&apos;t shy away from her blindness but they also normalize it.

  Something the audio description missed because the characters were talking, when Toph is talking about how she doesn’t care what she looks like, she’s tearing up, you can even hear a small sniffle.

  When Toph is “helping” hang posters, she doesn’t place it upside down she actually hangs it backwards. I’d be curious if audio description would add that commentary. I think that makes it even funnier that she guesses from context clues that she must’ve placed it upside down lol

  I feel like even this admittedly good compilation does a disservice to the show&apos;s blind representation, because a lot of what makes it feel genuine and good (to me) is that they&apos;re not constantly pointing out Toph is blind. A lot of Toph&apos;s screentime is just her being a great character who is blind, that&apos;s one of her traits but not a plot point. The compilation is obviously missing all of that nuance in representation, because it specifically singles out the moments where it is mentioned.

  Okay so i have to say, when Katara says &quot;too bad you cant see the stars&quot; to Toph, its important to note that she and the other two are sleeping in the open under the stars while Toph is isolated under her earth tent because she and Katara are fighting. So when she says that, i think she actually forgets Toph is blind and is just trying to make her feel bad about isolating from the group. But Toph takes it as a mean blind joke. That&apos;s how ive always interpreted that scene

  That episode where she goes to the spa and Katara tells her she&apos;s pretty always makes me so emotional.<br><br>Toph was always infantilized and treated like a living doll because of her disability. The distance between her and being any sort of conventionally appealing is likely very active and deliberate. But, as you said, that doesn&apos;t mean she doesn&apos;t care. Katara giving her that assurance, followed by the &quot;really?&quot; was probably one of the only times Toph heard that from someone who actually knows her.
