Here is another mistake (may be worth a whole episode).
When taking a trip, do not charge more than you have to and don't stop to charge too soon.
Since the Tesla charging curve has the fastest charge time at low SOC, and the longest at high SOC, drive until you SOC is around 10% to 20% (when you are more comfortable, closer to 10% is better). Then only charge until you have enough to get to the next charger. The only time to vary that is if you are making a longer stop to get something to eat. Then you might as well charge higher.
Also, as best you can, time you 'required stops' (bathroom break, food, etc.) to be at the charging location.
Doing these things will get you the best combination of less time waiting at a charging station and more time on the road.

When there is a software update, make sure that is being done in your garage at home when you have nowhere to be for 55 minutes. I did the software update one time in the grocery store parking lot, and I did not know how long it was going to take. I called a friend to come rescue me just as the car was finishing the update 55 minutes for real!

There is something you should have mentioned about home charging and that is making sure your breaker box can handle installing a charger. I had to upgrade my breaker box from 100 amps to 200 amps to handle the extra load of a home charger. This was not a cheap maneuver . The utility company had to come to the house and upgrade the line from the street to my house as well. This can add a couple grand to the cost of buying a Tesla, plus all the other things you mentioned in this video.

    A couple of other tips:
As well as getting Level 2 charging installed in advance - 3:46, also figure out extending your WiFi to give strong coverage into the garage. It helps with the car's over-the-air updates, setting up trip navigation, Grok voice, the charge connector, smart garage door openers, your smartphones etc. I have a dedicated WiFi mesh satellite in there.
Minor item - I just switched the display to dark mode and far prefer it. Easier on the eyes and makes details show up better.

New Tesla owner, I'm retired, don't drive a lot so my chargeing limit is set to 65%. My Condo could not handle a 50AMP plug so I went with a 30AMP 240 Plug and It does all I need. having 240V makes all the differance. I just purchase a 2nd Travel charger and it works great

Instead of reaching out for the screen for an adjustment I always try a voice command 1st to minimize distractions.

Whenever you’re doing a day trip remember to just charge enough at a higher priced station to get home plus a little range. You don’t need to spend needless money at a public station when you can top it off after you get back and spend pennies. Of course better safe than sorry in cold weather.

Awesome tips! There is one more: PIN to drive. Makes it very difficult for anyone to drive off with your vehicle.

From this 8+ year Tesla owner I’d agree with all you had to say. I would offer only one additional tip (also learned the hard way). When on a multi-day road trip, especially in winter, charge up for the next day’s drive the night before. If you hit the Supercharger the next morning you will have a very cold-soaked battery and the charge rate will be much slower. I typically charge up to whatever I need for the next leg plus about 10% and then the next morning I can just get in the car and go.
