You can't judge movies quality by theater attendance anymore. It's too expensive!

George Miller was an ER doctor. Mangled bodies is his specialty.

Its very sad that Furiosa didn't make any money and that we havent seen a sequel in these past 11 years. But in all honesty, the Mad Max franchise has never really never been a box office gold mine (heck not even in Mel Gibson's movie star prime) and in reality, the most profitable one of the 5 was the very first one from 79

I saw Fury Road in the theater 3 times and it’s up there next to The Dark Knight, Dune part 2 as a theater experience I will never forget. My dad and I are big mad max fans and when we saw it together we just couldn’t believe how purely kinetic of a film that was. I’d say Fury Road and The Raid are the two most nonstop kinetic action films I have ever seen and are the best examples of story through motion.

Mind-blowing trivia: George Miller brought back Hugh Keays-Byrne to play Immortan Joe in Fury Road (2015). If he looked familiar, it’s because he played Toecutter, the leader of the motorcycle gang, in the very first Mad Max all the way back in 1979!

Sadly, I'm old enough to remember when Beyond Thunderdome came out and saw it in the theater.

Still think they should have just re-released Fury Road with Furiosa. By that time the movie had a lot of good word of mouth.
