nothing feels cooler than a clutchless upshift when done right

Added benefit: when you're offroad and you break the clutch lever, clutchless shifting is a godsend!

When you've been riding for a while the hybrid method is the way you just do it... it feels the most natural. <br>I never thought about it but after a year of riding I was already doing this hybrid method without ever thinking of how to shift better.

Interesting that you say that clutchless shifting is a stepping stone towards the "hybrid". I learned the "hybrid" shifts well before the clutchless as they are much more forgiving if you get timing wrong.

Of ALL the guides, tutors, coaches, and "moto-know-it-alls" I've seen online over the years THIS channel has proven the MOST USEFUL, with clear explanations and simple, EASY TO FOLLOW steps and descriptions for every technique and practice method. THANK YOU!

Isn't the 3rd method just... normal shifting done right? You Know...

the second method is less easy than it looks, it works only at specific rpm range, otherwise you feel you're forcing it or straight up you can't insert the gear

I'm constantly doing the hybrid method. Learning not to pull in the clutch to far beyond the friction zone is what puts the butter in your shifting

Just a couple days ago, I was trying to figure out how to compose a response to a Reddit post from a beginner about shifting, but gave up because I could not find the words to explain it. So just now I watched this video to learn something new, and I'll be damned; The explanation of "hybrid" shifting is exactly what I am doing. I never set out to do it; It just sort of happened gradually over 12 years and 90,000 miles. 12 years ago I could not do a smooth downshift to save my life. Now my shifts are just as you describe.

Watched the entire to realise that I've always been using the last method by instinct.. Glad to know that's the best out there.

I feel like the "Hybrid" method is just the natural progression of learning to be competent on a motorcycle, I thought I was going to learn some mind blowing new tricks only to realize it's exactly what I've been doing for a long while now. Great video for those still learning though!
