  Every one of these got a name because the job was the only thing anyone could see, not the chemical, not the dose, just who kept dying. Which makes me wonder: what is your job quietly doing to you that nobody has named yet? Genuinely curious what people come back with.

  "The recorded method for getting a stuck boy moving was lighting straw beneath him and nobody washed." WTF? Does nobody else find this to be the most disturbing statement in this entire video? No pause to let that thought sink in or for dramatic effect. Just like reading a grocery list or a to do list, like it's the most normal thing in the world. That is literally lighting a fire underneath someone's ass.

  I always thought mercury in hat making was  a Victorian-era thing, but it was used until 1941? Dang!

  Who else here remembers pushing a ball of mercury across your desk in grade school during the 70&apos;s. Then you would &quot;squeeze&quot; it from one hand to the other.<br>I grew up in Danbury and remember a field trip to the hat factory around 1980. Although it wasn&apos;t mercury anymore, I remember walking right past vats of steaming solutions on our tour. &nbsp;There was no glass walkway above the factory floor like you see on today&apos;s factory tours.<br>Also the &quot;Mad&quot; Hatter was our high school mascot.

  Similar to &apos;Mad Hatter&apos; there was also a type of lead poisoning from making pins, hat and clothing pins. Mostly women and kids working on factories
