Imagine how many things we take today will turn out to be poisonous or deadly by people in the future...

I had an injury to my humerus similar to Mr. Beyers. No way would I touch anything radioactive. I'm up there (73), so I was willing to wait till my body healed, it took about ten weeks, but, well here I am.

#10 : 1927 is not Victorian era. It's era of roaring twenties.

Heroin und Morphin Babys und Kinder zu geben ist ein Verbrechen. Wie viele sind an Überdosis gestorben. Schlimm was da alles beschrieben wird.
Arsen in einer Fiebermedizin?
Ein Wunder das das Menschen überlebt haben.

Huh. Now I wonder if the Mrs. Winslow's soothing syrup accidentally, if slightly, increased the percentage of people like a good half of my family who have some mutation that makes us naturally highly resistant to morphine and, for most of us, other opioids generally. (And also benzos, Tylenol, and, for at least three of us, caffeine as well.) But the mutation seems to be bad news too- it not only makes pain and anxiety hard to treat, it also seems linked to a tendency towards a whole constellation of inflammatory disorders. So we're prone to hypothyroidism, type 2 diabetes, and lots of other problems, and it's hard to treat anxiety, hard to regulate sleep and wakefulness in is, and especially hard to treat pain, but on the bright side, we will never even be addicted to opioids or benzos, let alone die from them.
