I've seen many of contemporary music's most heralded artists. From Buddy Rich, to Stevie Ray Vaughan, to Yo-Yo- Ma.
No one has impressed me more than Ritchie Blackmore.
In 1983 I saw Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW open for Blue Oyster Cult.
I remember nothing about BOC's set but remember to this day how amazing Blackmore was.

These are " some " of his faves .. Beck is his nbr1. He always praises Hendrix and Brian May.

My husband saw Ritchie at Ingleston near Edinburgh during Rainbow's "Earth" tour in the late 70's and still talks about Ritchie's performance. However, even he says that Jeff was better than Ritchie and as I am keen to have peace in our house I will not argue. However, my own favourites as a prog fan are Steve Howie, Andy Lattimer and Steve Hackett. Love Angela 💌💌💌💌💌

Hendrix should be on all lists. He was so far ahead of everyone else. Townshend thought he sounded like an orchestra by himself. Jeff Beck just smiles and says I'm still trying to figure out how he did that. And just think if he lived he would be way ahead
